Derrick Johnson Brings Children’s Book "Super DJ Saves Field Day" to BookPeople
BookPeople, Texas’ leading independent bookstore, will host University of Texas football standout and former Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowler Derrick Johnson for a special story time and book signing celebrating his debut children’s book, Super DJ Saves Field Day.
This heartwarming story, co-written with his wife Brittni, follows a dad-turned-superhero who encourages kids to discover their own “superpowers.” Inspired by Johnson’s dedication to education through the Defend the Dream Foundation—which has provided thousands of students in Texas and Kansas City with books, literacy tools, and interactive “DJ’s Discovery Dens”—the book combines adventure, humor, and inspiration to show children that believing in themselves is the first step to greatness.
Attendees can enjoy a live reading by Derrick, purchase signed copies of the book, and take part in an engaging story time experience at one of Austin’s most beloved bookstores.
