Alpha Church 80th Anniversary Celebration
Since its founding in 1945 as a predominately African American Seventh-day Adventist church, Alpha has been built on the faith and dedication of men and women committed to serving others. Over the years, we have partnered with various agencies to provide critical support to the Central Texas region, including housing evacuees following Hurricane Katrina. Alpha is the proud sponsor of the Dorcas Passion/Pecan Springs Road Food Pantry, which addresses food insecurity while preserving the dignity of patrons by allowing them to “shop” for the items they need.
For decades, Alpha has provided meals to those experiencing homelessness, supported area nursing homes through children’s ministry outreach, and led a vibrant prison ministry aimed at reducing recidivism in Travis County and Del Valle Correctional Facilities. Our youth organization, the Pathfinder Club, once proudly led the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday parades through the streets of Austin. Through these and many other efforts, Alpha has preached and lived the gospel, demonstrating Christ’s love to all and through tangible community engagement.
Our free to the public worship service will be on June 7th, 2025 followed by our Gala/Banquet at Courtyard Marriott-Pflugerville, 16100 Impact Way, Pflugerville, TX 78660 at 7pm.
