Catch the Springtime Blues: Pete Wagula in Concert at the Ocean County Library

TOMS RIVER – Green is the dominant color of spring, and brilliant Jersey Shore guitarist Pete Wagula gives it his own shade of blue. The Ocean County Library is pleased to present “Spring Concerts with Pete Wagula” at three branches during May. • Tuckerton Branch – 7 PM Monday, May 5, 380 Bay Avenue, (609) 296-1470 • Lacey Branch – 6:30 PM Wednesday, May 14, 10 East Lacey Road, Forked River, (609) 693-8566 • Stafford Branch – 6:30 PM Thursday, May 22, 129 North Main Street, Manahawkin, (609) 597-3381 Watch Pete’s deft stylings on the frets and enjoy his renditions of acoustic bottleneck blues, jazz and original songs from his most recent albums including The Other Side and Seventeen, found on his website. Pete reveals his influences and discusses his glass-on-strings technique in his Ocean County Library Meet the Artist interview on YouTube. He also sheds light on the electric loops he creates to build a sonic backdrop for his slide stylings on dobro and metal- and wooden-body guitars. Playing since age five, Pete grew professionally in duets with guitarist Bob Geiger, studying with jazz legend Tal Farlow, and playing in Kucharik’s Dream Child, Ghost Town and Local 69. A contributing writer for Guitar Player magazine, he continues his association with Geiger, guitarist Gary Cavico and pianist Jumpin’ Jack.
