Join a Swingin' Friends Adventure at the Ocean County Library Stafford Branch

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP – Remember the irresistible rhythms and heavenly harmonies of the swing era? Are you ready for a ride along Memory Lane? Climb aboard for our next Friends Adventure, “Uptempo: Phil Bruschi Sings Big Band Standards” at the Ocean County Library Stafford Branch, 1 PM Thursday, May 8. Feel free to sing along as Phil delivers his special brand of “Edu-Tain-Ment” in the finger-snapping standards of the Great American Songbook by entertainers such as Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. He will also perform the stylizations of their musical heirs including Harry Connick, Jr. and Michael Bublé. An entertainer since he picked up drumsticks at age nine, Phil Bruschi made a name for himself as a jazz and rock percussionist who also sang. Today, he focuses on singing to entertain and to enlighten audiences about the lives of the performers he highlights in his concerts. His extensive musical biography program menu includes Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby, Neil Diamond, The Beatles, Ray Charles, Bobby Vinton, John Denver, the Everly Brothers, songwriters such as Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, Lieber and Stoller, and many more. Please register at https://tinyurl.com/OclUptempo to attend this free program. For more information, stop by the OCL Stafford Branch, 129 North Main Street, Manahawkin, or call (609) 597-3381.
