AUDITIONS FOR FOOL MOON THEATRE’S PIPPIN (Margate-NJ, 3/10/2025) Fool Moon Theatre Company is having open auditions for Stephen Schwartz's iconic and unforgettable musical masterpiece PIPPIN, the Tony-award winning musical that tells the story of a young prince searching for the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. WHERE: Margate Community Church, 8900 Ventnor Avenue, Margate, NJ WHEN: Saturday, March 29 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm and Sunday, March 30 from 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm Performance Dates: July 18, 19, 20 and July 25, 26, 27. Performers should be prepared to sing an audition song with their own backing track. Performers will be asked to read from sides and show movement and dance ability. Men and women of various ages are needed. There is a role for a young male, age 8 -12. See below for information regarding characters and vocal ranges. Guides Pippin through his own story and tries to intervene at the end. excellent dancer. Obsessed with putting on a great show for the audience. Eventually, he finds love, and meaning in life, with Catherine and Theo. Gender/age: male,18 to 21 Vocal range top: Ab4 Vocal range bottom: G2 Charles Pippin's demanding father. As the King of the Holy Roman Empire, Charlemagne is more comfortable wielding a sword than breaking bread. He wears his years with great pride. Gender/age: male, 50 to 60 Vocal range top: E4 Vocal range bottom: G2 Lewis Pippin’s not-too-bright half-brother, and, after Pippin, heir to the throne. Not at all like Pippin, Lewis loves weight lifting, wrestling, showing off, and, most of all, Lewis. Gender/age: male, 18 to 21 Vocal range: any Fastrada Pippin's conniving stepmother. A seductress, who is no stranger to deceit and betrayal, she is both sexy and smart. Skilled at using her sexual appeal to benefit her and her son. Gender/age: female, 35 to 45 Vocal range top: F5 Vocal range bottom: A3 Berthe Pippin's saucy grandmother. A brassy broad full of wisdom, grace, and sass. She is a beautiful and a hopeless romantic, who possesses graceful elegance. Encounters Pippin at his lowest point and eventually falls in love with him.
