Historic Dennisville Christmas House Tour

After a six year hiatus, the Historic Dennisville Christmas House Tour returns this year and will be held Saturday, December 21st from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nine historic houses and historic buildings that include two churches, a school, and a store, will be decorated for the holidays and open to the public. The feature house is "Walden Puddle," an early 1900s log cabin that has never been on the tour before and will feature its owners' decades-long collection of antique Christmas decorations. Other historic buildings on the tour range in date from the late 1700s to the 1870s. Some are outside of the village and must be driven to. Also on display will be the infamous Red Chair of the Facebook group "Chair Watch" fame that dangled precariously for several years from the attic's edge of a dilapidated house on Route 47. It has been restored and, along with the green suitcase, will be displayed at the Dennis Township Museum and History Center the night of the tour. As in previous years, a soup and sandwich dinner will be available for purchase a the Methodist Church in South Dennis while free cookies and refreshments are offered at the former Carroll store in the heart of the village.
