Beth Israel Hosts Wicked Purim Carnival
Children are encouraged to come in costume. There will be games and prizes, an escape room, hair tinsel, costume contests, face painting, crafts, pizza and make-your-own hamantaschen. Purim is the spring Jewish holiday based on the Biblical book of Esther, with its story of escape from planned persecution and slaughter. Despite the serious subject, the holiday is celebrated in joy and comedy, often retelling the story in farcical ways or with creative parody.
