Join Atlanta’s creative community for Reel Talk, a monthly short film screening series presented by Reel Friends. Each event features a curated selection of 5 locally made short films across genres—followed by live filmmaker commentary, where directors discuss their process, challenges, and inspiration.
Founded by Atlanta producer-director Rocco Shapiro, Reel Talk transforms the historic Tara Theatre into a hub for cinematic collaboration and conversation. Stick around for the post-screening happy hour mixer from 10 to 11 to network with filmmakers, crew, and fellow creatives!
As the series grows, submissions are now open for 2026 via FilmFreeway, inviting filmmakers across the greater Atlanta area to submit shorts, documentaries, or experimental work for future events.
ABOUT
Reel Friends is an Atlanta-based production company founded by Rocco Shapiro, dedicated to crafting dynamic narrative projects with diverse artists in a respectful and collaborative environment that values authenticity above all. They have produced short films that premiered at Academy Qualifying festivals and they are now in development on multiple feature films.
