Hapeville's Día de Muertos Celebration
Join the City of Hapeville in honoring the Day of the Dead with its annual Dia de Muertos Celebration! On Saturday, October 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park will be full of live music, delicious food from local vendors, traditional crafts and family-friendly activities to celebrate the beauty of Mexican culture.
In the weeks leading up to the celebration, the community is invited to showcase their creativity and participate in free special events, including the Kids Art Contest, and the following workshops where you can learn traditional Mexican crafts and create beautiful offerings for your ofrenda:
- Love, Sugar & Pan de Muerto Workshop: October 8, 5–8 p.m. at Hoyt Smith Center
- Bringing Alebrijes to Life Workshop: October 8, 5–8 p.m. at Hoyt Smith Center
- Colors of the Altar Workshop: October 8, 5–8 p.m. at Christ Church in Jess Lucas Park
