THE PLUS STRUTTM POWERED BY ULLA POPKEN
The Plus StrutTM powered by Ulla Popken, widely known as “the curviest 5K on the planet,” will mark its milestone 5th year anniversary by expanding into a full wellness weekend from May 2-4, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia. What began as a groundbreaking single-day event has evolved into a movement celebrating body positivity, wellness and community for plus size women across the nation, and beyond.
Specifically, created to encourage and embrace a demographic of women that are seldom seen doing activities of this type, The Plus StrutTM powered by Ulla Popken continues to hold reign as the first in its class. Welcoming plus size women of all fitness levels, from beginner to pro, the event offers a diverse atmosphere, tremendous support and a continuous outpour of love that yields more than just exercise... Plus Strutters get an experience that will impact their lives forever!
This year's event celebrates the old with a whole lot of new, expanding the original 5K into a comprehensive three-day wellness journey! Features include:
Friday, May 2 | 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM: NEW! The Plus StrutTM Meet & Greet Mixer – To kick-off the weekend, race participants will come together to pick-up registration packets, connect with fellow strutters and get into the spirit and excitement of the weekend. Location: Element by Westin (3491 Piedmont Rd NE)
Saturday, May 3 | 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM: The Plus StrutTM 5K Walk/Run – The signature event, proudly coined as “the curviest 5K on the planet,” is a national 5K welcoming participants from all over the United States and abroad year after year. Location: Chastain Park (216 W. Wieuca Rd - in the playground area at the corner of W. Wieuca and Dudley.
Saturday, May 3 | 6:30 PM - 8:30PM: NEW! The Plus StrutTM Pillows & PJs – Pillows & PJs is the ultimate cool down experience inviting participants into a sanctuary of wellness featuring guided meditation, sound baths, light yoga, and body appreciation mantras, along with purposeful healing conversations lead by a professional psychotherapist. Location: Element by Westin (3491 Piedmont Rd NE)
Sunday, May 4 | 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM: NEW! The Plus StrutTM Champions of Wellness Brunch – To close out The Plus StrutTM Wellness Weekend, Founder Joy Tribble will host this special event to celebrate a plus size wellness trailblazer who turns vision into action over a delicious brunch.
Online registration for The Plus StrutTM powered by Ulla Popken is open at https://bit.ly/ThePlusStrut2025. Options are available for teams/groups and individuals as well as supporters who desire to be onsite to cheer on one or more participants. Online registration ends on Wednesday, April 30, at 11:59PM EDT. Onsite registration will be available on the morning of the event and will begin at 7:30AM ET.
