Chili for the Children Celebrates Milestone Anniversary with Annual Chili Cook-Off

The fundraiser brings together friends, community and local culinary partners for an afternoon of chili tastings, live music, raffles and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish® Georgia. Founded by Jany Brown, Chili for the Children started as a grassroots effort to bring people together in support of children and families in need. Two decades later, the event has grown into a beloved Atlanta tradition, raising more than $450,000 for nonprofit partners focused on children’s health, education and wellbeing. Beneficiaries over the years include Make-A-Wish® Georgia, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Ferst Readers, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Literacy Action, Literacy Alliance of Metro Atlanta and Literacy Volunteers of Atlanta. This year’s anniversary event continues that legacy by supporting Make-A-Wish® Georgia. Funds raised will help support wishes like that of 19-year-old Luke, who is currently battling leukemia and hopes to travel to Japan with his family. “Even at the 20-year mark, I’m still amazed that what started as a small office gathering has grown into a lasting legacy of generosity and shared purpose,” said Brown. “This milestone belongs to everyone who has shown up year after year to give back. Every ticket purchased, bid placed and raffle entry helps bring hope to children and families when they need it most.” The 2026 chili competition will feature past winners returning to cook for a cause. Each team will contribute a portion of proceeds to the charity of its choice, with guests invited to taste and vote for the People’s Choice award. An additional donation will be made to the winning chili’s selected charity. Raffle and silent auction highlights, including a trip prize currently in development, will be announced ahead of the event. “A wish can be a powerful source of hope for children and families navigating some of life’s toughest moments,” said Justice French, director of development for Make-A-Wish® Georgia. “Chili for the Children’s continued dedication and generosity help ensure we can reach more children battling critical illnesses with life-changing wishes and support families during incredibly challenging times.” Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, teams and attendees, Chili for the Children is proud that 100 percent of funds raised are donated directly to its nonprofit partners. Tickets are $100 per pair, making it an easy way for participants to attend together while supporting a meaningful cause. Tickets and additional event details are available at chiliforthechildren.com.
