Brookhaven Police Hot Pursuit 5K

We heard you, Brookhaven. And this year, we made a change. For years, our Hot Pursuit Race has been one of the most anticipated events of the summer. And every year, we heard the same thing, it's too hot, it's too late, we wanted to come but couldn't make it work. So this year, we listened. We moved it to the morning (still may be hot 🥵), we certified the route, and we made it possible for more people than ever to be part of something that truly matters. The 2026 Hot Pursuit 5K is happening August 22nd at 8:00 AM on the Cherry Blossom Festival route at Blackburn Park, a certified race course right here in Brookhaven. We're kicking things off with a Tot Trot for the little ones and finishing strong with a 5K open to runners AND walkers. Because this was never just about the race. It was always about the community showing up together. And this year we're also doing something we've never done before. You get to choose your experience. Want to run? Sign up and run. Want a t-shirt? Add it on. Want a medal to remember the day? Add that on too. No pressure. No one-size-fits-all. Just you, your pace, and a morning worth waking up for. But here's the part that makes all of it mean something. Every single dollar raised goes directly to our Shop with a Badge program — an annual tradition where Brookhaven officers walk hand in hand with children in need and help them shop for the holidays. Not as enforcement. Not in uniform responding to a call. But as people who genuinely care about the kids in this community and want to make sure every child has something to smile about at Christmas time. That's what this race is really about.
