NCHGS’s Museum and a Movie series showcases independent, international, and historical short films relevant to our museum exhibits and the communities we serve.
April 2025’s feature is “Tending the Wild,” a PBS SoCal documentary co-produced with KCETLink Media Group and the Autry Museum.
“Tending the Wild” highlights the traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous peoples across California by exploring how they have actively shaped and tended the land for millennia. By examining how humans are necessary to live in balance with nature, this documentary special uplifts traditional practices to inspire a new generation of Californians to tend their environment.
The documentary is approximately one hour in length and will be shown at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 PM in the John R. Austen Auditorium of the Sigal Museum.
This program is free to the public.
