Wreaths Across America at Jordan United Church of Christ
The cemetery at Jordan UCC is a unique historical treasure, with interred veterans who served in every major US conflict dating from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War. The graves of seventeen veterans of the Civil War include Pvt. Charles Radeline, who fought and survived the Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia in December 1862 at only 17 years old. His fifth-generation descendants are still active in the life of the church. Jordan’s church historian, John Harting, will share a memorial tribute to the Civil War veterans entitled Christmas on the Rappahannock during this year’s ceremony. US Congressman Ryan Mackenzie will join the program of remembrance at Jordan UCC this year.
