Virtuoso bluegrass/roots mandolinist Jacob Jolliff with guitar genius Grant Gordy, in concert
The Music Club welcomes the phenomenal mandolinist Jacob Jolliff (of Joy Kills Sorrow, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Bela Fleck's My Bluegrass Heart) in duo performance with flatpicking wizard Grant Gordy (of the David Grisman Quintet).
Jacob Jolliff is one of the country's most notable contemporary mandolinists, having won the National Mandolin Championship in Winfield, Kansas, and performed worldwide in collaboration with some of bluegrass and roots music's biggest stars, including Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and Chris Thile. Grant Gordy combines bluegrass and jazz as a member of David Grisman's Quintet and the supergroup Mr. Sun (with Darol Anger, Aidan O'Donnell, and Joe K. Walsh).
Together, they play a mixture of high-octane instrumentals, covers, and traditional tunes.
