Poets Major Jackson and Didi Jackson

The Bookshop is delighted that these two powerful poets, who are married, are returning to the Bookshop for a Valentine's Week joint reading. Major Jackson's "witty, musical, and intelligent" (The New Yorker) poems and essays have been published in American Poetry Review, the Paris Review, and in six collections, most recently "Razzle Dazzle: New & Selected Poems." He is the Poetry Editor of the Harvard Review, a Pushcart Prize and Whiting Writers Award winner, and has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the American Academy of Poets, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He was the host of the NPR poetry podcast "The Slowdown," previously hosted by US Poets Laureate Tracy K. Smith and Ada Limón. Didi Jackson's poems, marked by "stunning metaphors and a profound understanding of grief" (Poetry Foundation) have appeared in The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, and in two collections, most recently "My Infinity" (poems inspired by the artist Hilma af Klint). This reading is free and all are welcome. Join us after the reading for a reception for the poets.
