Conversations with the Curator: Warehouse Valley & Its Ecological Impact

Each month, tune in to explore some of our favorite artifacts, delve into the overarching themes of our galleries, or get a sneak peek into the planning and design of an upcoming exhibit. On April 30, 2025, join our Curator of Exhibitions for an in-depth look at a major theme of our temporary exhibit, Warehouse Valley: A Changing Landscape – the environmental impact of development. In 2023, American Rivers named the Lehigh River one of the most endangered in the country, citing poor planning and the proliferation of warehousing as leading causes of the waterway’s declining health. This development threatens not only the safety and longevity of the Lehigh River, but simultaneously of the flora, fauna, and human beings that live and work alongside it. Join us for a critical look into the many threatened species, habitat loss, and effects of pollution that result from the Lehigh Valley’s role as a key (and historic) transportation hub. Registration is not required for this program. Please visit the provided website for the Zoom link.
