A 45 year old Latinx trans man returns to his birthplace - Albuquerque, New Mexico - in search for the origin of a secret lesbian code he learned when he identified as a teenage dyke in the 80s.
Join us for a screening of The Whistle, a heartwarming and historical documentary about a secret code created by and shared among young lesbians in 1970s & 80s Albuquerque as a means of self-identification and finding community.
This is a fundraiser for filmmaker, StormMiguel Florez next project about the upcoming QueerJoyFest in Albuquerque and the history of Women In Movement In New Mexico (WIMIN).
The hour-long screening will be followed by a Q&A panel with the film participants and the film director.
