Lecture: Descriptions of the Pueblo World, 1540-1542
Coronado Historic Site’s Ranger Joseph Tackes will give a PowerPoint presentation, "Descriptions of the Pueblo World, 1540-1542, on Sat., May 3, 2 - 3 p.m. at the Sandoval County Historical Society and Museum in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Using translated accounts from the 1540-1542 Coronado Expedition, Tackes will compare the first written descriptions of the geography, architecture, and agriculture of the Pueblo World with what is known from continued, as well as past, archaeological finds in the greater region. Visitors will have a chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation. This lecture is free and open to the public and is held in partnership with the Sandoval County Historical Society. The lecture will take place at their location: 160 Edmund Rd. Bernalillo, NM 87004.
