This hike will focus on spotting and identifying local flora and fauna, using the iNaturalist and Seek apps as part of the annual, global citizen science project called the City Nature Challenge. You can join teams or participate as an individual. On this 1.5-mile sandy and flat trail, you'll enjoy seeing hundreds of petroglyphs and diverse species of desert wildlife. No amenities are available. Bring plenty of water with you. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes with good ankle support. Meet at the Piedras Marcadas Canyon main parking lot, 9421 Jill Patricia St. NW. Binoculars are helpful for seeing wildlife.
