Wildlife West Nature Park & Tinkertown Museum Day Trip
Join the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts for a van trip to the East side of the Sandias - it should be 8-10 degrees cooler there! First, we’ll go to the Wildlife West Nature Park & Zoo in Edgewood where you’ll get to see over 25 certified non-release, friendly animals. Next, we’ll head to the imaginative Tinkertown Museum in Sandia Park. Call the Los Lunas Museum at (505) 352-7720 to reserve your spot! Space is limited. Transportation is free; see below for costs of each attraction.
9:00 AM - Arrive at Los Lunas Museum and load vans
9:15 AM - 10:15 AM - Drive to Wildlife West Nature Park
10:15 AM - 12:15 PM - Tour the Nature Park and have lunch
12:15 - 12:30 PM - Drive to Tinkertown Museum
12:30 - 1:30 PM - Tour Tinkertown
1:30 - 2:15 PM - Load vans and drive back to Los Lunas
Wildlife West Admissions: $12 adult, $10 senior, $5 student, Free for veterans and children under 5 years.
Tinkertown Admissions: $6 adult, $3 children 4-16, Free for children under 4 years and wheelchair users.
Bring a sack lunch, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle. The Wildlife West Nature Park & Zoo has a mile long accessible pathway with minimal shade to view the animals. Tinkertown Museum has uneven and narrow walkways that can be a challenge for wheelchairs and walkers. Our vans are not accessible, but we can stow some collapsible mobility aid items. Times subject to change, may arrive back at Los Lunas Museum as late as 3:00 PM. We recommend bringing extra quarters along for the Tinkertown Museum.
