Place of the Lake: Documenting Five Centuries of Indigenous History in the Helderbergs
Centuries ago, native families traveled, hunted, fished, and camped in a high elevation district they called Mbeesuk (Lake-Place), known today as the Helderberg Hill towns. Historic documentation is scarce, but careful analysis of what is available tells us much about a vanished world. Justin Wexler of Wild Hudson Valley will provide a fascinating glimpse of the Hill towns in the era before Euro-American settlement.
