What happens after a college shuts its doors, and what does its closing say about the worthiness of teaching, of writing, and a college education? Is there a right way to grieve after an institution ends?
We are approaching the first anniversary of the announcement that The College of Saint Rose, a 102-year-old institution, would cease operations. Join Daniel Nester, former Saint Rose professor, as he reads from “Here’s Where The Story Ends,” a work-in-progress about his experiences at the end of a long teaching career. He also writes about the sudden loss of his mother.
What emerges from these experiences is a renewed idea of community, friendship, and how to tell your story.
There are funny bits as well. Promise.
Nester will be joined by former students Kaitie Lundberg, Abigail Barker, and DJ HEAT, who will share their work.
