Anyone who appreciates beautiful paintings that depict the special landscapes of the Hudson Valley will want to take in the fifth annual (by popular demand) Seasons of Greene art show that benefits land conservation in the valley. 8 talented and regionally known artists display their works in the show's new location, the historic (c.1788) and historically preserved William Brandow House at the Willows at Brandow Point in Athens, NY.
Each Seasons of Greene exhibit since the series’ inception in 2017 has offered a collection of new paintings depicting viewscapes and properties protected and stewarded by the Greene Land Trust, as well as other properties worthy of protection, but not yet under the Trust’s auspices.
A fundraiser for the Greene Land Trust, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the original artwork goes to support the work of the Land Trust, whose mission is to protect the many places that make Greene County special. These include, for example, scenic vistas that have inspired the historic Hudson River School of painters, agricultural lands that represent an essential part of the county’s heritage, and open spaces that provide habitat for wildlife as well as recreational opportunities.
