JOURNEYS - From Rural New York to the Ends of the Earth
A 1995 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College, Ella Derbyshire, MD, is currently a family medicine physician in village-based practice in Unalakleet, Alaska, and affiliated with the Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome. She graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Grenada in 2002. Her more than 21-year medical career has included serving as a physician at the Amundsen Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica, and providing primary and emergency healthcare in remote, indigenous Alaskan communities. This event is presented by Voices: A Library Lecture Series and the HVCC Alumni Association.
