The Empire State Aerosciences Museum will hold its monthly Fly-In Breakfast on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at 250 Rudy Chase Drive, Glenville, NY 12302 (off Route 50). At 10 am, local pilot Edward Chevrette, author of “Wings of Fortune, personal tales from the golden age of Aviation” will give a light-hearted talk about his career in flight instruction. Ed began his flying career when he became the first cadet to earn his Private Pilots License as a member of the Civil Air Patrol Wing. He started as a part time instructor at the Loudon Airport (now closed) and later at the Schenectady County Airport, Albany, Round Lake and finally the Poestenkill Airport on a full-time basis. He held positions such as Chief Flight instructor, Chief Pilot for turbo jet charter flights, including Private, Commercial and Instrument Flight Course, two flight instructor courses and Multi Engine and Airline Transport Pilot Rating Courses for both single and Multi-Engine Aircraft. Ed will be selling and signing his book. Ed is now retired. But during his active flying career he was the holder of the coveted Gold Seal Flight Instructor Rating and FAA Certificate of Accomplishment for 10,000 consecutive hours without an aircraft accident. Ask him about “Dawn Patrol”. Fly-In if you would like. Pilots: Tower Frequency 121.3; Ground 121.9. Land at Schenectady County Airport and taxi to Richmor Aviation North. Tell them you are going to ESAM.
