Circus Gym

Circus Gym is a five-week, skill-based movement series offering introductory level training in circus arts, physical theater, and playful athleticism for both youth and adults. Each week centers on a distinct discipline, allowing participants to build skills progressively while engaging creativity, coordination, and confidence in a supportive environment. Classes run Monday–Friday, with mixed age group youth sessions from 4:00–5:30 PM and adult sessions from 5:30–7:00 PM. Participants may enroll in a single themed week or commit to a full five-week series on the same day of the week. Circus Gym is ideal for participants seeking structured skill development, creative expression, and physical challenge within a welcoming, community-oriented environment. Whether enrolling for one week or the full series, participants are invited to move, play, and grow—one skill at a time. $135/week (member price is $115). Week 1: Acrobatics & Partnering May 11–15 This week focuses on foundational acrobatics and cooperative movement. Participants explore balance, tumbling, counterbalance shapes, lifts, and partner-based sequences that emphasize strength, trust, communication, and spatial awareness. Classes are scaled for age and experience, supporting both beginners and returning movers. Week 2: Aerial Foundations & Vertical Play May 18–22 Participants are introduced to aerial fundamentals and vertical movement through age-appropriate apparatus and climbing pathways. Emphasis is placed on body awareness, grip strength, coordination, and confidence off the ground, while encouraging curiosity and safe exploration in the air. Week 3: Creative Movement, Physical Theater & Character Creation May 25–29 This integrated week blends creative movement with physical theater practices. Participants explore storytelling through movement, gesture, rhythm, and expression, using improvisation and guided prompts to develop character, presence, and narrative clarity. The focus is on imagination, embodiment, and expressive range rather than technical virtuosity. Week 4: Balancing & Juggling June 1–5 A deep dive into object manipulation and balance-based disciplines. Participants explore tight wire, juggling scarves, rings, and clubs, hand balancing, diabolo, and rolla bolla. This week builds focus, patience, coordination, and resilience—celebrating persistence, problem-solving, and playful precision. Week 5: Trampoline, Movement Games & Obstacle Challenges June 8–12 The final week emphasizes dynamic movement and playful conditioning. Using trampoline, structured movement games, and obstacle challenges, participants develop agility, cardiovascular endurance, teamwork, and spatial awareness. Classes balance high-energy activity with strategy, collaboration, and joy in motion.
