Kids Arts Festival

The main goal of the festival is for kids of all ages to have meaningful interactions with sculptors, painters, musicians, weavers, and folklore artists. A secondary goal has become to create public art. This year's theme is a French connection. One of this year’s community-based participatory projects will have people creating flowers out of recycled objects to beautify the area around Jay Square. Kids of all ages can create bookmarks out of French lavender, paint portraits — inspired by the Mona Lisa or landscapes influenced by Monet, craft their own stained-glass-inspired creations with tissue paper, or decorate the streets around City Hall with stained-glass-inspired chalk art designs. Outdoors on Clinton and Jay streets around City Hall, in Jay Square, and select shops on the Jay Street Marketplace, rain or shine!
