From the organizers: Grab your sunscreen and get ready to float Summit Lake on Saturday, August 9! Presented by the Ohio & Erie Canalway and Summit Metro Parks, Summit Lake Float welcomes community members to experience Summit Lake through water recreation, including kayaking, canoeing and pontoon boat rides! Through this Akron Bicentennial program, we are celebrating Summit Lake’s thriving ecosystem and the neighborhood’s deep roots in Akron’s 200-year history. Schedule of activities: • Guided Canoe Trips with Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition (Pre-registration required): 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. • Kayak Trips with Summit Metro Parks (Pre-registration required): 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. • Kayak Trips (Open House) with Summit Metro Parks: 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. • Pontoon Boat Rides (First-come, first-served): 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
