Before all the Christmas rush gets underway, start the Advent season off right with this relaxing musical vespers service featuring the works of composers like JS Bach, Gerald Near, Jean Langlais and others, and some inspirational readings by Maya Angelou, Madeleine L'Engle, Charles Dickens and more, all in our beautiful, historic sanctuary with our wonderful Aeolian-Skinner organ and our fantastic guest reader.
Christopher Dazey, organist at Crossroads, will play the 79-rank Aeolian-Skinner organ, while Mr. Manuel Halkias, nationally-recognized speech coach at McKinley Senior High School, will lend his mellifluous voice to the various readings and poems.
Christmas is often a season of excessive busy-ness, and for some, even depression and anxiety. We offer this quiet, contemplative service of music and readings to everyone in Stark County and beyond as a counter to that, as a reminder of the peace, love and quiet joy of the season of Advent.
Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there!
